What You Need to Know Before Choosing a Montessori Certificate Course
Choosing a Montessori course is confusing. Many institutions claim to be “International” or “Recognized,” but here is the reality: Most private diplomas are not accepted for government school jobs.
In India, only 3–4 universities offer true Montessori Diploma courses. If you want a career in government institutions or a degree with university backing, you must look for specific accreditation.
Where does IIMS fit in?
Are the courses at IIMS affiliated with a university? No. However, we are the architects of the curriculum. In association with the CBR Network, IIMS designed the Montessori overview used in University-level Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs. We have also served as faculty and examiners for these programs.
IIMS and CBR Network were the first to successfully integrate the Montessori Method into an Indian University program.
The Path to a University Diploma
If you require a Government-Recognized Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), we recommend registering for the online course at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).
The curriculum we helped build for this diploma includes:
- Foundations: History of ECE, Child Rights (RpwD Act), Health, Nutrition, and Yoga.
- Inclusive Education: Introduction to Inclusive ECCE.
- The Montessori Method: Core principles and approach.
- Practical Life: Activities of Daily Life (EPL) and Sensory Development.
- Academic Prep: Mathematical Concepts and Language Development.
Note: The final three papers are almost entirely focused on Montessori content.
